FAQs

What does The Well provide?

The Well guides young ministry couples on a transformative journey of soul health and building value-driven homes. Through rejuvenating retreats in serene locations, small cohorts learn to care for their souls through healthy life rhythms and meaningful relationships with colleagues on the same journey. Each cohort then continues to gather online for 6 months of accountability and support as they pursue wholeness in marriage, ministry, and family life.

What is the investment to join The Well Collective?

The investment is $3,000 per couple. We strongly encourage couples to request support from their church leadership, as many churches have funds set aside for enrichment or development experiences each year.

If I join The Well Collective, what is included in that experience?

Your experience includes:

  • A 3-day retreat focused on personal growth, legacy building, and developing healthy rhythms as a couple.
  • Six months of cohort gatherings for ongoing community, encouragement, and accountability.
  • An invitation to our annual Homecoming event with the entire Well Collective community.

Each phase is designed to strengthen your marriage, foster meaningful relationships with other ministry couples, and empower you to build a value-driven home while serving your church with greater health and intentionality.

How intense is the retreat schedule?

Because both physical and spiritual rest are key components to a healthy soul, our retreats are designed with 45% of the schedule dedicated to coaching blocks & interactive teaching sessions. The remaining 55% is given back for downtime, rest, & reflection on what God is doing in the hearts of the attendees and their spouses.

What is the long-term goal for The Well?

Our long-term vision is to create a national network of Well Collective Coaches who can facilitate transformational retreats across the country. We also plan to build a comprehensive ecosystem of soul-health resources—including books, digital content, and practical tools like our Family Values Cards—designed to help ministry families establish purpose-driven rhythms that bring order to their hectic lives and create lasting legacies of faith.

Who is The Well designed for?

The Well is designed for young married couples (between the ages of 18 and 32) who serve in ministry full-time, part-time, bi-vocational, or in high-level volunteer leadership roles. We focus on couples who are early in their career and calling, committed to building value-driven homes, and want to learn how to lead from a place of rest through healthy spiritual formation.

How many couples participate in each retreat?

Each retreat hosts 4 couples, creating an intimate cohort experience that ensures meaningful relationships and personalized attention. We keep our groups intentionally small to foster authentic community and deep connection among participants.

Where are the retreats held?

Our retreats are held in serene locations that provide a beautiful safe haven for rest and reflection. We carefully select properties that offer both comfort and tranquility, allowing couples to step away from the demands of ministry life and focus on their spiritual formation.

How often do retreats happen throughout the year?

Currently, we host 2 retreats per year—one in early spring and one in late fall. As The Well grows, we plan to train and employ Collective Coaches who will host additional retreats, allowing us to increase our intake and impact while maintaining the quality of our small cohort experience.

What should we bring to the retreat?

Bring the typical items you would take on a weekend trip, but please come comfortable and casual. We encourage attendees to come dressed for a 3-day Sabbath. Also, since 55% of our schedule is dedicated to rest and reflection, we encourage participants to also bring journals for personal reflection and an open heart ready to receive what God wants to do during this transformative time.

What happens during the monthly cohort calls?

The monthly cohort calls provide ongoing community, accountability, and support as couples implement the best practices they’ve learned during the retreat. These calls may also include occasional special guests, book studies, and other enriching content as couples share their journey, encourage one another, and continue growing together as they pursue wholeness in marriage, ministry, and family life.

What makes The Well different from other ministry retreats?

The Well is not a traditional leadership seminar—you won’t get “10 ways to increase this” or “5 steps to grow that.” Our primary focus is on the soul health of the husbands and wives in attendance, as we empower them with the resources and sabbatical practices needed to build value-driven families who are able to weather the waters of ministry.
